The Block 8 exploration license, located in northern Oman, is held through a joint venture between Alara Resources and Awtad Copper LLC. In October 2024, AIM-listed Power Metal Resources plc entered into a farm-in agreement granting it the right to earn a 12.5% interest in the project.
Exploration activities under this agreement commenced in October 2024, led by Power Arabia, Power Metal’s regional technical team. These programs mark the beginning of a renewed exploration push in Block 8, building on its strong geological potential for copper and associated minerals identified by Alara.
The Ministry of Energy and Minerals has since approved the renewal of the exploration license, enabling preparations for the next phase of exploration to move forward.
